CHEST X-RAY INTERPRETATION

Goals and Objectives Goals  Resident will be comfortable interpreting basic emergent chest x-ray findings Learning Objectives  Resident will be able to list and describe options available when ordering chest x-rays Resident will be able to describe and list steps of systematic chest x-ray interpretation Resident will be able to recognize and describe x-ray findings of the following: Cardiomegaly COPD Pulmonary edema Pleural effusion Pericardial effision Pneumonia ARDS Pneumothorax (including tension pneumothorax) Aortic aneurysm/dissection Pneumoperitoneum Pneumomediastinum Rib fractures
