Goals
- Resident will be
comfortable interpreting basic emergent chest x-ray findings
Learning Objectives
- Resident will be
able to list and describe options available when ordering chest x-rays
- Resident will be
able to describe and list steps of systematic chest x-ray interpretation
- Resident will be
able to recognize and describe x-ray findings of the following:
- Cardiomegaly
- COPD
- Pulmonary edema
- Pleural effusion
- Pericardial effision
- Pneumonia
- ARDS
- Pneumothorax
(including tension pneumothorax)
- Aortic aneurysm/dissection
- Pneumoperitoneum
- Pneumomediastinum
- Rib fractures
