Goals and Objectives

Goals
  •  Resident will be comfortable interpreting basic emergent chest x-ray findings

Learning Objectives
  •  Resident will be able to list and describe options available when ordering chest x-rays
  • Resident will be able to describe and list steps of systematic chest x-ray interpretation
  • Resident will be able to recognize and describe x-ray findings of the following:
    • Cardiomegaly
    • COPD
    • Pulmonary edema
    • Pleural effusion
    • Pericardial effision
    • Pneumonia
    • ARDS
    • Pneumothorax (including tension pneumothorax)
    • Aortic aneurysm/dissection
    • Pneumoperitoneum
    • Pneumomediastinum
    • Rib fractures
